Renee Jochens Halsey Farm PDF Print E-mail
Carl Jochens became the owner of a 160 acre farm in Section 21, Township 25, Range 1 on March 11, 1907.  It was deeded over to him from M.H Paukow.  Later Reneee Jochens Halssey's grandparents, Fred and Esther Jochens gained ownership in approximately 1920's.  Her parents tok ownership after their marriage in 1948.  Lawrence passed away on January 5, 2004 and Hilda on June 1, 1989.  The Trustees deed to the property was signed by Renee on April 13, 2004.
 
Keith & JoAnn Owens PDF Print E-mail
Keith and JoAnn Ownes purchased their farm in 1967 from George and Helen Owens.  They still reside ont eh farm, with keith being the third generation to live there.  They have three childdren, Cinda Wacker of Lincoln, Randy of Carroll and Greg of Wayne.  Both Randy and Greg are still active in farming.

Hot Dog Eating Contest PDF Print E-mail
WAYNE COUNTY FAIR
HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
THURSDAY JULY 29TH 6:00 PM
BEER GARDEN
PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A $10 WAYNE COUNTY FAIR CERTIFICATE
WINNER WILL RECEIVE A $50 WAYNE COUNTY FAIR CERTIFICATE

Rules:
1.  Entrant must be 18 years of age or older
2.  No Entry Fee!
3.  Registration will be limited to the first 10 people.

4.  The allotted time is 5 minutes, plus a 2 minute "Waiting" period after eating
5.  Eaters will be given 5 hots and buns to start.  Water will be available.
6.  Should a eater be observed hiding their hot dogs in their purse or pockets, dropping them under the table or placing them on another eater's plate he/she will be demmed in performance of "Picnic Profanity" and be disqualified.
7.  Eaters who suffer reversal will be disqualified (and possibly laughed at).
8.  Eaters must keep the hots dogs down for a period of 2 minutes after the contest. (what you do with them afterwareds is none of our business)
9.  The "Chipmunking Rule" will be in effect, which means that all food must be swallowed 30 seconds after the 1 minute buzzer.  Violators will be penalized 1/2 hot dog.
10.  Judges decisions are final (so no complaining, it's just a hot dog eating contest!)
